Briana is a writer, artist, DJ, & event curator from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Formerly the Managing Editor at S/ Magazine, she made her mark through imaginative beauty shoots and thoughtful editorial features, which include interviews with poet & activist Amanda Gorman and Queer Eye’s Antoni Porowski. She went on to work with jewelry brand Dean Davidson as their lead copywriter, and has made editorial contributions to FASHION Magazine and Capsule 98.

Briana is passionate about self-expression through storytelling, diverse representation in media, and the healing catharsis that comes from poetry and dance. A Canada Council for the Arts grant recipient, she specializes in lyric and free verse poetry, and her mentors include award-winning poet & author Cassidy McFadzean.

Briana’s DJ alias is Critter, through which she explores evocative electronic music, organizes vibrant queer parties, and facilitates freedom on the dance floor. Briana’s visual art practice includes painting, photography, ceramics, and illustration, with her first self-illustrated colouring book currently underway.

She’s also a cat fanatic, clowncore enthusiast, avid birder, Jean-Claude Van Damme film buff, & insatiable consumer of all things Drag Race. Her favourite holiday is, and will always be, Halloween.
